Mac and cheese - Home economics

                            Mac & cheese

Ingredients:  Macaroni, milk, cheese, corn flower, bread crumbs, onion, tomato, salt.

Skill: Roux sauce. Roux is flour and fat cooked together and used to thicken sauces. Our cheese sauce wasn't very good at all, I don't think there is anything we could have done, it was just the type of sauce.

Evaluation:
  • Smell: It smelt alright at first it smelt cheesy.
  • Looks: It looked good and edible.
  • Taste: It tasted quite off, like off milk, but that might just be me. I feel like we could have used a different recipe next time.

Rate: I would give it a 3/10, it just wasn't very good in my opinion.

What could we do differently: Use a different recipe that is more common and not use corn flour, use normal flour. Not add tomato to it.

How did the team work together: I think our team worked fine together and there were no problems while cooking/working together.

Black death

Black death
P1) The black death is thought to have originated in Asia but then traveled to Europe in 1347. Traders in the Crimea
have been besieged for three years by Tartar hordes from Central Asia. The Black Death then spreads and goes
among the Tartars. The Tartars used their siege machines to fling the dead inside the walls of the fort. The Black
death then spreads to the people inside of the fort, after this happens the Tartars flee. The survivors that were
inside the fort set sail for Europe bringing the disease with them. People knew they had it when :
   Bubonic plague:
Situated in the groin, armpit or neck
About the size of a chicken egg
Tender and firm to the touch
Other bubonic plague signs and symptoms may include:
  • Sudden onset of fever and chills
  • Headache
  • Fatigue or malaise
  • Muscle aches

Septicemic plague

  • Fever and chills
  • Extreme weakness
  • Abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting
  • Bleeding from your mouth, nose or rectum, or under your skin
  • Shock
  • Blackening and death of tissue (gangrene) in your extremities, most commonly your fingers, toes & nose

Pneumonic plague:

  • Cough, with bloody mucus (sputum)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • High fever
  • Headache
  • Weakness
  • Chest pain
P2) Cures for the black death: This tells us that living conditions weren't the best back then, there was none if any very little personal higene. People not having good higene made it easier for them to catch the plague as nothing was clean.
They tried curing the black death by: Rubbing onions, herbs or a chopped up snake (if available) on the boils or cutting up a pigeon and rubbing it over an infected body. Drinking vinegar, eating crushed minerals, arsenic, mercury, bathe in urine, blood letting, flagellation or even ten-year-old treacle! Most of this was effective however some of it was a waste of time and wasn't as effected.

P3) Plague doctor: The plague doctor was a doctor who checked people for the

Summery - How does your brain respond to pain

What is pain? Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage.

Summery: People feel pain in many different ways. When people feel pain sometimes it helps them work better and some people don't work better with pain. Some people can send their mind to wondering to distract them self from pain. People can experience the same pain yet react so differently towards it. Pain has an intercity, you could describe it on a scale from 0- nothing to 10- the worst pain imaginable. When you get hurt special nerve sells called nociceptors send signals to the spinal cord and then to the brain and processing work get done by sells called neurons and glia.

Chaos - Slam dunk

                        Slam dunk
Here's my paragraph:
What was life like in the middle ages ? Interestingly, the person's wealth was how
they were treated. For example: The king got the best treatment, and poor people got
treated the worst. Kings and queens had loads of food to eat, and got the privilege to
shower everyday. The poor, lived on farms, did not get enough food, and hardly got to
have a shower.
This was important because this shows how poorly they were treated.

Everyone was not treated equally.
