Self managers

Today we got in pairs we wouldn't usually work with to create a DLO on how to be a self manager/what reminds you on how to be a self manager. Today I worked with Qyn, we created a google drawing. Our drawing is very simple and plain yet effective and reminds people and ourselves how to be a good self manager.

What does being a self manager mean to me ?
Being a self manager means always being on task or complete the task in the time given, it means to be at the right place on time with the correct gear, it means not getting distracted by noisy people or distractions.

What could you do even better ?
Always make sure I come to school on time with the correct uniform, the right gear such as pens,pencils,books,Chromebook fully charged and also coming to school with a positive attitude.

What is something I did today to show self management skills ?
I worked effectively on our DLO and also with people we wouldn't usually work with, I got my reading plus done and a bit extra as I was so focused. I came to school on time and with the correct gear I need for today at school.

How does your story show manakitanga ? 
In our story we have shown  the manakitanga by the kids helping the old lady and also inviting her in for a cup of tea and biscuit.

Conclusion : I think this will be a very fun hurumanu to do and it is good getting to work with someone we wouldn't usually work with.

This week in math we were working on finding fractions of a set using multiplication and division, I thought this weeks work wasnt too hard and I would like a bit more of a challenge. I will now show you my DLO:

Last week in math's we were working on how to find fractions using multiplication and division. We showed this by creating a DLO  (digital learning object).  I decided to do a slideshow on how to work it out and this weeks maths work. I will here show you my DLO , I hope it is clear and understandable : 

100 word challenge

Today we did a 100 word challenge about something that happened in the past could be fiction and could be non fiction , I did a story about a time when my sister and I Snuck out.

It was a normal day as far as I could remember and it was a warm & calm day, my sister and I were hanging out in our room and while we did that we decided to clean our room , I found $2.60 . So me and my sister had a plan to sneak out !
We opened our window and threw a pillow on the ground, then jumped onto it , we then walked to the dairy. Looking back I remember it was about three streets down from our street.
When we got back our parents we not happy !

DMIC Maths

This week we did DMIC maths , we learned about recording information in a chart/graph . We printed a chart and then we had a problem to solve using the chart. The problem the class used was involving cough medicine amounts and the hours it takes them (Sione and Ripeka) to finish their bottles of cough medicine , the final question to that problem was ¨Who will finish their medicine first? 

I worked out  that Sione would finish his dose of cough medicine first , he would take 36 hours to use 120ml of medicine and Ripeka would finish hers after Sione it would take Ripeka 56 hours to finish 400ml of medicine , I found this out by using the chart/graph.

It was quite easy to use the graph and it was a really easy way to work out the answer to the problem.
