Aim: To find out which color attracts the suns heat.

Hypothesis : I think that the black cup will attract the most sun light/heat because when you wear black clothes you get really hot because it attracts sun so I think that the black cup will attract the most heat. I think the white will be the coldest cup because white dosen’t often attract much sun.

Material

1. White paper
2. White cup
3. Black piece of plastic
4. 1 clear cup 
5. Black plastic cover
6. Tin foil
7. Cardboard
8. Heat lamp
9. 100ml cup of water in each cup
10. Thermometer
11. Timer

Steps

1.   Get the materials 
2.  put the tin foil inside a cup and also put black paper around another cup. 
3.  Put water inside all of the 3 cups.
4.  shine the  light onto all 3 of the cups.
5.   wait for 15 minutes then put a thermometer inside all 3  cups and see the tempter.
6. Record the tempter 
7.  wait another 30 minutes then see the results after that.
8. record the tempter 
9.  then wait 45 minutes and then see  the results after that.
10. record the tempter

Findings:

1. In this photo is our three cups with the heat lamp facing them.

2.  Layed out of the square pieces of material and they are heating up in front of the head lamp. 

1. We found out that the balck cup did in fact get the hottest/attract the most sun head/light.

Conclusion:  In conclusion my findings in this experiment state that the black cup attracts the most sun and heat. I knew this from the start as I know it is one of the main colors that attracts the sun. I also knew that white would be the coldest cup as white doesn't attract much sun at all.

Climate Chaos

This week we did a google doc about an experiment we had done in science last week. In science we are talking about water cycle and how it works and what it does. Last week we got in groups of no more then three ,in my group was Briannna and Talia. In my google doc it explains the materials, how we did it, the steps, our goal and what I think the out come would be etc. Here it is :

Title	How to make a water cycle bag
Purpose	To show the water cycle To show the water cycle with baking soda dioxide
Materials	First bag 1 plastic zip lock bag 1 vivid 1 cup of warm water 2 drops of Blue food coloring 2 small pieces of double sided tape Second bag  1 plastic zip lock bag 1 vivid 1 cup of warm water 2 drops of Blue food coloring 2 small pieces of double sided tape 1 tsp Baking soda Small piece of litmus paper
Steps	First bag .First you get your plastic zip lock bag and a vivid .Secondly you draw the water cycle on the front of your plastic zip lock bag .You then put the two small pieces of tape on the top and bottom center of the bag .Next you go  to the teacher and get about 1 cup of water and 2 drops of food coloring .Now you zip the bag up and hang it somewhere it can get light ( window, glass door etc. ) Second bag .First you get your plastic zip lock bag and a vivid .Secondly you draw the water cycle on the front of your plastic zip lock bag .You put the two small pieces of tape on the top and bottom center of the bag .Next you go over to the teacher and get about 1 cup of water, 2 drops of food coloring and 1 tsp of baking soda. .You will give the bag a little swirl around to mix the baking soda with the water .Now you zip the bag up and hang it somewhere it can get light ( window, glass door etc. )
Conclusion	I think the outcome of this experiment will be ….. First experiment : I think that nothing will happen because I think there is nothing that would cause this to have a reaction , but if it were going to do something I think the most it would collect more water off the windows. Second experiment : I think maybe the water will rise up the bag and turn into carbon dioxide and disappear or turn to air . What really happened :

Does it cycle?	Small - Bag 1 cycles and you can see that it does.	Small - Bag 2 cycles and you can also see it and the effect it had which wasn't much.
Amount of Water	Small - There is still a decent amount of water in the bag.	Small - There was still a lot of water left in the bag.
Acidity	None	Small - There is a little bit of change and the litmus paper had changed color to blue.

Conclusion : In conclusion Bag 1 didn't change much but still had a little bit of an effect and Bag 2 had changed the color of the litmus paper and it had a little change. I think bag 2 had a bigger effect because there was backing soda in it that let out gas.

For the past 4 weeks we have been working on different types of poems to write, I chose to do a Haiku poem because I really like the type of poem, and how easy and simple yet so effective. The picture I chose was very pretty and of a morning sunrise, it is so beautiful and I can imagine being there and that's what helped me do this poem.

Climate change issues

                     Climate change issues

Aim : To learn about the different emissions of climate change.

Cows : Cows are one of the main problems to do with climate change as every time they fart or burp it lets out a gas called Methane, Methane is a green house gas 25 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, this is having a big impact on climate change.

Factories : Factories are impacting climate change a huge amount , Making clothes, electronics, cars and processed foods lets out a large amount of pollution, when materials like card board, plastic, metal and cement is made it lets out gasses that go into the air and the water.

Transportation : Although cars, trucks, and many other vehicles get us around through daily life the harm fall gases getting released from the gas or diesel that cars use to get places, it goes straight to the atmosphere when the car is going. 

Food : We need food to stay alive but it creates a lot of pollution, when food gets transported but trucks, planes, cars, and trains it adds more carbon dioxide to the air and goes to the atmosphere, clearing the land for farms and also creating green house gasses.

Landfill : Our land full has gotten that bad that it covers some of our healthy land, when waste breaks down greenhouse gasses are created including methane and carbon dioxide, they contribute to climate change.

Electricity : This is a minor yet still very effective problem to climate change, almost everything we use in our homes and outside of our homes are used by electricity, it can come from renewable sources such as (wind , sun , water) and no- renewable sources like focial fuels (oils , and gas) focial fuels release CO2 into the air.

Self managers

Today we got in pairs we wouldn't usually work with to create a DLO on how to be a self manager/what reminds you on how to be a self manager. Today I worked with Qyn, we created a google drawing. Our drawing is very simple and plain yet effective and reminds people and ourselves how to be a good self manager.

What does being a self manager mean to me ?
Being a self manager means always being on task or complete the task in the time given, it means to be at the right place on time with the correct gear, it means not getting distracted by noisy people or distractions.

What could you do even better ?
Always make sure I come to school on time with the correct uniform, the right gear such as pens,pencils,books,Chromebook fully charged and also coming to school with a positive attitude.

What is something I did today to show self management skills ?
I worked effectively on our DLO and also with people we wouldn't usually work with, I got my reading plus done and a bit extra as I was so focused. I came to school on time and with the correct gear I need for today at school.
